Malaysia - Tourist Police

Tourist Police

Visitors who face unforeseen problems can always seek the aid of the Malaysian Tourist Police.

You can identify an officer by his or her attire - checkered hatband, dark blue shirt and trousers and a red and blue badge (with the letter "I" for information) displayed on the breast pocket.

These officers usually patrol tourist spots and protect the attractions/monuments as well as the safety of all visitors.

I would like to inform all the related persons that I have been fooled
by the so called Euro Star Express Courier (both from UK and Malaysia)
and Malaysian Shipment for a package that I should have received long
ago. My friend Ashton Zak from UK to Nepal. The package travelled
through UK-Germany-Malaysia. From Malaysia, it was to be delivered to
Nepal. But my package was dumped and I was asked for money in return
of that package .I tracked the package through tracking number
8034178206 in eurostarxpresscourier.com and it show that the package
is in Malaysia . Due to importance of that package, I paid 12400 RM &
800 USD to different person but still I have been asked for additional
500 USD. I have spent such a huge sum of money to receive a parcel.
Now I begin to have a feeling of being fooled by all. I do not know
who is responsible for this but I request Malaysian Police Department
to address the problem I have faced and investigate in this matter to
make justice and prevent others from being cheated in future. Please
take necessary action in this matter. If my friend also involve in
this matter then call him and punish him too because he playing game
with me his number is +447031847249,60126102135( Mr. Clement and Mr.
Hamza Sherif) Please do something.

Why you are didn't tack any action??
If they are wrong then why they are use government stamp??

I was walking on the road with my husbond on Jalan Raja Chulan closer to KL tower around 8.30 am on 1st April 2012. A peson on Motor Bicycle snached my gold neckless. We did not hear or did not see him. When I realized what has happende and started shouting he even turned back and looked while riding his bike. I saw his face very well and I think he must be a malay person wearing baige color t-shirt.There were two taxies parked there and some people otheron both side of the road. But no body did anything. Only one person just asked whether we noted the bike number. All others pretended they saw nothing. We were very shocked and were helpless. We went back to the room and talled them. They gave some telephone numbers and try to call police, tourist police but it was very difficult to contact them. Finally We called police who said they will come to the hotel to get the complain done. But nothing had happend. I just lost the most valuable thing I had. Later we got to know that this type of things are very common in Malaysia. So what the hell the tourist police is doing. they are not providing security to the foreigners. A city like KL there should be lot of security people providing security to the foreigners. but we have noted that it was in very few places the police officers on duty. they were also just chatting and not concerning on what is happing. What we felt was Malaysia is not only getting income from tourists but stealing whole thing the foreigners has. The way the police reacted to my complain I had to come to the conclusion that these things happen with the knowledge and they too may be getting a share from these thieves. My advice is to anybody is "PLEASE DO NOT GO TO MALAYSIA IF YOU CAN DO SO". IF YOU MYUST GO DO NOT USE ANY VALUABLE THINGS. OR DO NOT CARRY YOUR PASSPORT WITH YOU ALWAYS. THEY WILL DRAG THAT TOO.
Every whare we were cheated by them. Specially taxi drivers. They charged RM 20.00 to 2.00 km saying they have a fixed charge and that is the minimum. but later we got to know that the minumum charge is RM 3.00 and then meter will increase according to mileage. Even the we had to pay RM 105.00 to the verhicle we went to airport at 2.00 am. But we got to know they charge this amount to a Lumisone vehicle not to a normal car.So I am sure that Malaysia is not safe for visitors.

My Experience Details(Email to Malaysian Authority):
Dear respected all,
As-salamu-alaikum,

8 JAN, 2014
Malindo Air had reached from Dhaka to Kuala Lumpur (KL) on 4.16AM.This is the first time tour outside of my country except India visit. When (within 4.16 AM to 5.30A) I was trying to exit from the last door of Airport (at level 3) after clearing customs and immigration. Three cheaters (cc TV screen shot crossed in attached file) came to me and claimed that they are Malaysian Government staves. Their role is to check either a tourist have hotel booking or not and air ticket (return) or not. They took my air ticket and told me that you have to pay 280+280 MYR as Malaysian Government penalty because you have no hotel booking. If you don’t pay you will be sent back to Dhaka. They gave me 560 MYR receipt and took USD 200 because I had no MYR that time and forced me to take their taxi. After closing the door of the taxi they gave me my air ticket and at last they drop me nearby china town. When I reviewed the receipt I understood that it is a cheating with me. I have introduced a complain (in attached file) on same day to tourist police in KL. They sent me to ‘balai police KLIA’ with a report generated by tourist police to get back the money as soon as possible. I had to spend 4 hours in ‘balai police KLIA’ to give them details. Mr. Bira took the case to investigate and preserved a photo copy of that money receipt. But he didn’t give me any deadline of investigation finished. After that I had come to KLIA to detect them(cheaters). I requested to airport police (level 5) to view the cc camera video. They viewed and gave me a cc camera screen shot of that scene.
9 JAN, 2014
I thought they are doing it continuously and decided to stay airport to detect them. I have detected them(level 3) within 3.30 AM to 5.00AM and requested airport police (level3 and 5) to arrest them on the basis of cc camera video and called Mr. Bira (investigation officer). But unfortunately they didn’t do that. I also tried to Mr. Bira’s mobile phone but I couldn’t reach. After that I had asked those cheaters to show their Govt. Employment identity. They didn’t do that even they tried to take me out of cc camera area and took the money receipt. Their collaborators (taxi drivers) proposed me to return money if I would withdraw the case against them.

After 9 Jan 2014
I have sent message to Mr. Bira 2 times and call 2 or more times. He just received my phone once and told me that investigation is going on. On 18 JAN I have come back to Dhaka.

please see two attached file for details.

My experience

1. I think there is a collaboration among balai police KLIA or airport police, taxi drivers and cheaters. Airport police, fast food shop owners know them well.

2. Not only I have been a victim but also many Bangladeshi passengers is losing money every day(specially at early morning time) .I have met with a BD person in Johor Baharu who also lost USD 40+MYR100.They forced not only me but also another person in front of me(walking) and tow persons(man and woman) sitting on chair(all are check mark)

3. I think it is a serious security flaw of KLIA and incoming tourist to Malaysia.

4. I have to come to Dhaka with empty hand. May you imagine if I would not have enough money?

5. They receive salaam and response .Their appearance looks like Malay Muslim. They are making bad image of good Malay Muslim people to foreigners.

6. If they are not arrested and punished. I am sure they will continue it.

Request: sorry if you are not appropriate person for this Email.please forward it to appropriate person(if possible).

Me and my husband stayed in Furama Hotel for two nights. On 22nd morning at 10.15-1030am me and my husband were crossing the road in front of your hotel to go to Time square as directed by One Ms. Priya in your Hotel taxi stand. Immediately one man came from the opposite platform in a Yamaha Bike and snatched my wife's Gold chail of48 grams worth RM 9900 and flew away. This was witnessed by your security in front gate. One Mr. Moktha security supervisor was informed and he also saw the location. We were then taken to the tourist travel police and we made a report. Rozanna Ras Taffari, Guest service Manager also was not receptive and made us to leave the hotel.
We requested for some urgent help which your hotel did not provide.
In the police station we saw another couple also lost their chain snatched by the same two wheeler happened around 10.30 and they also reported. Their hotel had CC Cover picture of that person. The police also did not act fast and we did not get any enquiry by the police and not by the hotel people which makes us to suspect that all of them are in hand in this daylight robbery which is shameful and Furama is not at all a safe place for foreign nationals as all there in support of this robbery.
I will also inform Malaysia tourism department to discourage tourists to your hotel. Many friends of mine travelling to your country will also be informed not to go to your hotel.
I plan to write to the media about this. We deeply regret for choosing this unsafe place not bothered about the safety of their clients.

This must be a regular happening there and not having a CC camera cover around the hotel is un acceptable.

It is a shame to visit this unsafe country and unsafe Hotel

Surely if take some efforts with the police this robber can be identified which if you do will be appreciated as the other couple stayed hotel had his pictures.
Hoping you will give some pressure and recover our lost jewel.

Your hotel repute will not stand if these unsafe activities continue.

If I don’t hear from you we go to media about this incident.

vicky said...

Yes I will fully agree. I too lost the chain exactly like you. KL is not a safe place. Please don’t go to Malaysia. There is a gang working for robbery. Police is not helping. We have all original copies
